Bead mills are required when high-speed dissolvers cannot achieve the desired fineness. VMA-Getzmann offers three bead mill solutions: the modular APS system that converts existing DISPERMAT® dissolvers into bead mills, the DISPERMAT® SL-C horizontal bead mill for repeatable fine grinding, and the DISPERMAT® SL-NANO for ultra-fine grinding with beads as small as 0.1 mm.
APS Bead Mill – Modular System for DISPERMAT® Dissolvers
The APS bead mill is a modular accessory that converts any DISPERMAT® laboratory dissolver into a closed batch bead mill. The system attaches easily via the dissolver shaft or adapter flange, allowing the same drive to function as both dissolver and bead mill. Available in 9 sizes from APS 30 (30 ml container, 8-12 ml product) to APS 7000 (7,000 ml container, 2,000-3,500 ml product). Standard design uses milling beads from 0.5 mm. Options include: Nano design (0.1 mm beads), ceramic design (ZrO? or SiSiC milling system), vacuum design (fine grinding under vacuum), pressure design (for applications under pressure), and ATEX explosion-proof version. Environmentally friendly features: closed system operation, low energy consumption, fast bead change, and easy cleaning. Compatible with DISPERMAT® LC, CV3evo, CN, CA, AE, and EX series dissolvers.
DISPERMAT® SL-C – Horizontal Bead Mill for Repeatable Fine Grinding
The DISPERMAT® SL-C is a closed, horizontal agitator ball mill for laboratory and pilot plant. Power range 1.1-4 kW, milling chamber volumes 0.05-2 liters, product volume 0.05-50 liters. Operates in single-pass or recirculation mode. Features integrated air pressure system to press remaining mill base out of chamber for complete product recovery — ideal for R&D where minimal loss is critical. Millbase separation via dynamic gap. Double-walled milling chamber with spiral-guided cooling water for temperature control. Milling system available in wear-resistant high alloy steel, ceramic (ZrO?), or silicon carbide (SiSiC) for applications where metallic abrasion must be avoided (pharmaceuticals, electronics). C-technology process control: large color display, DISPERWHEEL® speed adjustment, data recording, 100 PRESET configurations, and WINDISP© 7 software compatibility. The DISPERMAT® SL-NANO is a closed nano bead mill designed for ultra-fine wet grinding using milling beads as small as 0.1-0.3 mm. Power range 1.1-3 kW, milling chamber volumes 0.05-0.5 liters, product volume 0.05-10 liters. Ideal for R&D, quality assurance, and scale-up to production. Features: high millbase yield via pneumatic press-out system, extremely low clearance volume, circulation and single-pass operation, C-technology process control, and USB data interface for documentation. Milling system available in high alloy steel, ceramic (ZrO?), or silicon carbide (SiSiC) for metal-free milling.
