Abrasion Testers
BYK-Gardner offers Gardner-scrub abrasion testers for determining scrub resistance and abrasion resistance of coatings. Available models comply with ASTM D2486, ISO 11998, DIN ISO 5685 / ECE R43, ASTM D4828, ASTM D3450, and ASTM D4213. Accessory kits include sandpaper attachment, sponge with weights (1000g, 1500g), and scotch brite pad. Ideal for architectural paints, interior coatings, and automotive glazing testing.

Adhesion Testers

Coating Thickness Gauges

Hardness Testers

NDT Ultrasound – PELT Gauge
BYK-Gardner PELT (Pulse Echo Layer Thickness) gauge uses ultrasound technology for non-destructive multi-layer thickness measurement. Measures individual layer thickness on steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, plastic, wood, rubber, and composites without cutting the sample. Ideal for automotive, aerospace, and industrial coatings where destructive testing is impractical.

Paint Application Tools
BYK-Gardner offers paint application tools including film applicators (wire-wound rods, square frames, bird-type applicators, Baker-type applicators), wet film thickness gauges (comb, wheel, and palm types), and spray application accessories. Temperature Testers – temp-gard
BYK-Gardner temp-gard oven recorders for temperature profiling and data logging. Available models: temp-gard basic (6 measure points for QC) and temp-gard pro (6 or 12 measure points for QC & optimization). Probe options include magnetic thermocouples for metal surfaces and clamp thermocouples for various substrates. Essential for oven curing optimization and process control.

Viscosity – Viscometers & Viscosity Cups
BYK-Gardner offers byko-visc CP cone and plate viscometer (absolute viscosity measurement, minimal sample size, built-in temperature control, CP Lite for basic QC, CP for R&D with advanced temperature control); byko-visc RT rotational viscometer (L for low viscosity, R for regular viscosity, H for high viscosity, RT Lite models for basic QC); dip cups including DIN, ISO, Zahn, Ford, and Stein Hall viscosity cups for quick QC checks; certification options available (certified cups with traceable certificate).

Wet Paint Testing
