Wire-wound rods 10 inch

Wire-wound rods 10 inch are BYK-Gardner applicator rods used to create thin, uniform, and repeatable film drawdowns of coatings, paints, inks, varnishes, adhesives, and other liquid materials. Also known as Mayer Rods, these products are highly suitable for R&D laboratories, quality control, formulation comparison, color matching, and coating performance evaluation.

In paint application testing, consistent film thickness is critical because it can affect the evaluation of color, gloss, opacity, hiding power, leveling, flow, drying behavior, and appearance. Wire-wound rods work by allowing material to flow through the grooves between the wire windings on the rod, producing a more controlled and uniform wet film across the application area.

Wire-wound rods 10 inch provide a 10 inch film width and are made of stainless steel for durability and easy cleaning. Each rod includes approximately 1 inch of space on both ends for convenient handling and is available in various wet film thickness options. This product can be used manually or with an automatic film applicator and is suitable for thin film applications in paints, inks, coatings, adhesives, paper coatings, plastic films, and printing materials.
