PosiTest ATA-20
PosiTest ATA-20 is an automatic pull-off adhesion tester used to measure the adhesion strength of coatings, paints, and protective layers on rigid substrates, especially higher bond strength coatings on metal surfaces. This instrument helps users perform quantitative, repeatable, and more consistent adhesion testing for quality control, field inspection, R&D, supplier approval, and coating application process validation.
In adhesion testing, PosiTest ATA-20 works by pulling a 20 mm dolly that has been bonded to the coating surface until the coating separates from the substrate. Its automatic system with an electronically controlled hydraulic pump applies smooth and continuous pull-off pressure at a specified pull rate, reducing operator effort and minimizing the risk of user influence on test results.
PosiTest ATA-20 has a measurement range of 0.7 - 24 MPa or 100 - 3500 psi, making it suitable for coating adhesion testing on metal and high bond strength applications. The instrument features self-aligning dollies for more uniform pull force distribution, an IP65-rated enclosure, rechargeable battery, and support for ASTM D4541, ASTM D7234, ISO 4624, and ISO 16276-1 standards.
