ISO Flow Cups
ISO Flow Cups
ISO Flow Cups are BYK-Gardner viscosity cups used to measure the viscosity of paints, coatings, inks, varnishes, lacquers, adhesives, resins, and other liquid materials based on flow time or efflux time. These tools help users evaluate material flow behavior quickly, practically, and repeatably for quality control, production inspection, formulation adjustment, and batch comparison.
In testing with ISO Flow Cups, the liquid sample is filled into the cup, then the time required for the material to flow out through the orifice is measured in seconds. The longer the flow time, the higher the material viscosity. This method is highly useful for checking material consistency before application, especially for products with Newtonian or near-Newtonian flow behavior.
ISO Flow Cups are made from anodized aluminum with stainless steel orifices and polished interiors to support accuracy, durability, and easy cleaning. These products are available in several orifice sizes, such as 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, and 6 mm, to match different material viscosity ranges. ISO Flow Cups are suitable for viscosity checks of paints, coatings, varnishes, inks, lacquers, adhesives, resins, and similar liquids according to ISO 2431 and ASTM D5125.
