DIN/ISO Dip Cups
DIN/ISO Dip Cups are BYK-Gardner viscosity cups used to measure the viscosity of paints, coatings, inks, varnishes, lacquers, adhesives, resins, and other liquid materials quickly and practically. These tools help users evaluate material flow behavior based on flow time or efflux time, making them suitable for quality control, production inspection, batch comparison, and checking material readiness before application.
In testing with DIN/ISO Dip Cups, the cup is immersed into the liquid sample until the upper rim is below the liquid surface, then lifted vertically while the stopwatch is started. The time is stopped when the liquid stream from the orifice breaks. The average value from several measurements can be used as the efflux time to evaluate viscosity consistency.
