DIN Flow Cups
DIN Flow Cups
DIN Flow Cups are BYK-Gardner viscosity cups used to measure the viscosity of paints, coatings, inks, varnishes, lacquers, adhesives, resins, and other liquid materials based on flow time or efflux time. These tools help users evaluate material flow behavior quickly, practically, and repeatably for quality control, production inspection, formulation adjustment, and batch comparison.
In testing with DIN Flow Cups, the liquid sample is filled into the cup with a defined volume, then the time required for the material to flow out through the orifice is measured in seconds. The longer the flow time, the higher the material viscosity. This method is widely used for quick checks because it is simple, easy to perform, and highly useful for confirming material consistency before application.
DIN Flow Cups are made from anodized aluminum with stainless steel orifices to support durability, precision, and easy cleaning. These products are available in fixed orifice and interchangeable orifice versions to match different measurement requirements. DIN Flow Cups are commonly used for low to medium viscosity liquids, especially paints, coatings, inks, varnishes, lacquers, adhesives, resins, and similar liquid materials according to DIN 53211 methods.
