Byko Visc DS (Stormer Type / Krebs Viscometer)

Byko Visc DS is a BYK-Gardner digital Stormer Type / Krebs Viscometer used to measure viscosity of paints, coatings, inks, varnishes, adhesives, and other liquid materials. This instrument helps users control material viscosity quickly, practically, and repeatably with direct digital readout in Krebs Units (KU), centipoise (cP), and grams (gm).

In the paint and coating industry, viscosity is an important parameter because it affects sprayability, brushability, leveling, sagging, film build, and application consistency. Byko Visc DS works by maintaining spindle speed at 200 rpm according to the Stormer / Krebs method. When the spindle is lowered into the sample, the motor shaft can start automatically, and the instrument rapidly calculates viscosity values to support daily quality control and batch consistency.

Byko Visc DS features automatic rotational speed control, direct digital readout, printer interface for test report output, accessory base for quart, pint, and 1/2 pint containers, and calibration with NIST traceable oils. The instrument has a range of 40 - 141 KU, 32 - 1090 grams, and 27 - 5274 cP, with resolution of 0.1 KU, 1.0 gm, and 0.7 cP. This product is suitable for paint viscosity control, coating QC, formulation comparison, batch testing, and testing according to ASTM D562, ASTM D2337, ASTM D2243, and ASTM D1849.
