Byko-visc Advanced EX is a BYK-Gardner rotational viscometer used to measure viscosity and flow behavior of paints, coatings, inks, varnishes, adhesives, resins, lacquers, and other liquid materials. This instrument is designed for quality control and R&D requirements that need more detailed, flexible, repeatable, and well-documented viscosity analysis.

In coating formulation and production, viscosity is an important parameter because it affects sprayability, brushability, leveling, sagging, film build, and application consistency. Byko-visc Advanced EX works by measuring the torque required to rotate a spindle at a defined speed in a liquid sample. This data helps users evaluate whether the material meets process specifications, application performance targets, and required quality standards.

Byko-visc Advanced EX includes the core features of byko-visc Advanced, such as graphical LCD display, user calibration, auto-diagnostic check, audio alarm for out-of-range values, PT100 temperature probe, auto range, USB interface, datalogger function, and memory. The EX version adds higher flexibility through an enhanced 12-key LCD display, 54 speed settings, 0.01 - 200 rpm speed range, programmable multi-step ramp function, quick disconnect accessory for spindle attachment, and interface with optional byko-visc Software for more in-depth viscosity behavior analysis.
