BYK-mac i Pro
BYK-mac i Pro is a BYK-Gardner multi-angle spectrophotometer designed for measuring color and visual effects on metallic, pearlescent, and effect finishes. This instrument helps users perform objective, precise, and repeatable color quality control on automotive coatings, industrial coatings, plastics, and various surfaces with effect pigments.
In metallic color and effect finish measurement, visual appearance can change depending on illumination and viewing angles. BYK-mac i Pro supports multi-angle color measurement to evaluate color travel, light-dark flop, sparkle, graininess, and other visual characteristics. With consistent measurement data, color matching, batch control, supplier approval, and quality assurance can be performed more accurately.
BYK-mac i Pro uses an LED light source with long-term stability and patented illumination control to deliver high accuracy with low maintenance requirements. The instrument also supports long-term calibration, temperature-stable measurement from 10 - 40°C without recalibration, and fluorescent light detection through the Intensity Emission value to support lightfastness evaluation, new color development, and batch-to-batch control.
