Bubble Viscometer
Bubble Viscometer
Bubble Viscometer is a BYK-Gardner viscosity testing instrument used to determine kinematic viscosity in transparent liquids such as resins, varnishes, lacquers, oils, and other liquid materials requiring flow behavior control. This instrument helps users compare sample viscosity with standard bubble tubes quickly, practically, and repeatably.
In Bubble Viscometer testing, the liquid sample is filled into a tube and compared with Gardner-Holdt standard tubes that have defined viscosity values. The test principle is based on the rising speed of an air bubble in the liquid. The faster the bubble rises, the lower the material viscosity; the slower the bubble rises, the higher the viscosity. This method is highly useful for daily quality control, batch comparison, and monitoring liquid material consistency.
BYK-Gardner Bubble Viscometer is available in several tube sets such as A5-A1, A-T, U-Z6, and Z7-Z10 to cover low to very high viscosity ranges. The standard tubes contain liquid standards sealed in glass tubes, offer long shelf life, are easy to use, and sample tubes can be cleaned quickly. This product is suitable for resin testing, varnish testing, lacquer testing, coating raw material inspection, ink evaluation, adhesive material control, and viscosity testing according to ASTM D1131, ASTM D1545, ASTM D1725, AOC Method Ka 6-63, and FTMS 141a Method 4272.
