BMW Single Impact Tester Esp-10
BMW Single Impact Tester esp-10
BMW Single Impact Tester esp-10 is a BYK-Gardner impact testing instrument designed to evaluate chip resistance in multi-layer automotive coating systems. This instrument helps users assess how well a coating layer can withstand mechanical impact that simulates stone chipping damage, especially in automotive finishing and coating systems that require high protective performance.
In the automotive coatings industry, resistance to chipping is an important parameter because changes in coating formulation or application process can affect the size and depth of the damaged area. BMW Single Impact Tester esp-10 enables a more controlled single impact test compared with multi-impact methods, making evaluation results more repeatable for R&D, quality control, process validation, and supplier approval.
BMW Single Impact Tester esp-10 has a portable design, allowing tests to be performed outside the laboratory and inside cooling chambers with temperatures of at least ? -10°C. The instrument uses an impact tool with a wedge-shaped blade and 3 bar compressed air to accelerate the impact ball. This product is in accordance with BMW standard and is relevant for testing according to DIN EN ISO 20567-2.
